About Me

My name is Tim Hill and this is my personal site and blog. I've been designing and developing web sites since I was a teen and I have a huge interesting in cool & functional web design, web standards and usability, good programming techniques, and lots of other web topics as well. I am currently employed as a site manager for Cygnus Business Media for the site Officer.com, though I as do work for Firehouse.com and EMSResponder.com.

My hope for this blog is to share cool links and concepts in web design, web standards, and web development that I come across, as well as little tidbits from some of my other passions. Those include:

  • Music. I've always had a strong interest in music. I play several instruments: Piano - which I started playing as a young child, bass - which I picked up in middle school to play in jazz band, and guitar - which I started a few years ago because playing the guitar is pretty awesome. I compose and create music as well.
  • Hockey. I think my mom took me to too many hockey games as a child. I fell in love. I've been playing for almost 15 years, including a couple years for my college (Div. II ACHA), though now I just play in adult rec leagues (a.k.a. beer leagues). I am also a HUGE Washington Capitals fan.
  • Art & Photography. I've always wished I was better at these two things and I'm always fascinated by people who are. Sadly I only have a decent, slightly broke (well, the LCD screen at least) point & shoot Canon SD750. I also need to use it more often. I also enjoy wacky things done with Photoshop.

I also plan to post some about these topics, as well as some of the random things that pop into my head from time to time.
